It depends on how long you've been with O2 I think. I got O2 to unlock my 3G before I sold it and I think you can do it yourself on the O2 website but they do say it can take up to 14 days (I think) for it to unlock. My first request was unsuccessful until o nagged the he'll out of them. I thought it might have been a ploy to extend my contract.
