Re: [MMUG] Time Machine

Hi Re:co This is the error message we get. When I click on repair it does repair and enable us to open it but then it screws up for the other users i.e. it appears that when either one of us repairs the iPhoto library it then disables it for the others. When I first set this up each of us was able to access this Library without this issue but the problem seems to be getting worse.

End of the Mac Pro on Tuesday?

Having never recovered from the death of FCP a year or so it sadly looks like the end of the line for the MacPro. The only rumours are that the 'very different' replacement to be announced on Tuesday will NOT be internally expandable and will rely heavily on thunderbolt. Sounds like a Mac mini on steroids rather than a Mac Pro. Certainly not a match for an HP z800

Re: [MMUG] End of the Mac Pro on Tuesday?

I miss FCP too. But X has got much better(10.0.8) and does have some nice goodies like the Multicam synch stuff. Metadata handling is much slicker although the Event Library business is a real pain. I used to have folders for projects so i could keep all the disk images, graphics etc. together(and provided you named a project straight away it was a snap keeping track of the stuff in Final Cut Docs).

Does anyone want any G5 tower parts?

Hi All, I'm going to be modding a june 2004 G5 tower to take an ATX board in the next few weeks, so most of the internals will be surplus to requirements. Here is a list of the parts that will probably be going spare, all are working: 2x 1.8ghz cpu's with heatsink motherboard power supply internals (not the psu case itself)

iPad 2 Mail Problems

Hi, I am having some problems with my wife's iPad 2 in that we cannot delete mail from the Mail app. When edit-delete is chosen , it returns a dialogue box to say something like "message cannot be transferred to trash". I cannot see anything in set up that can invite or modify this behaviour and I have an iPad 2 that functions using the latest ios

Re: [MMUG] iPad 2 Mail Problems

What email account is it? Was it the same account tested on each device? If it has webmail access that seems to work ok it might be worth removing the account & recreating it on the iPad. Run a backup in iTunes or iCloud first. Otherwise you could erase the iPad & see if it works correctly, then try restoring from iTunes & hope that it doesn't reappear. I guess it's possible that the issue is in the settings or in the way mail is stored on the device.

Re: [MMUG] iPad 2 Mail Problems

Hi Drew, Thanks for that. The account is on the same server at my site: [link] . The problem is the same with three e-mail accounts on my wife's iPad, but the same three accounts delete ok on mine. We are using the Apple Mail App, but I have installed a webmail account and that works
