iBooks & Lion vs Snow Leopard

Then we'll have an open discussion about Lion, pros and cons, reasons to upgrade and stick with Snow Leopard and more. Everyone is invited to participate here!

Final Cut Pro X with Chris Roberts
The November meeting of the Midlands Mac User Group will be guest hosted by Chris Roberts.
Chris is a Apple Certified Master Trainer for Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Pro X. He teaches everyone how to use Final Cut, including Apple employees, and he'll be joining us this month to give us a look at FCPX.
This will be held at the Birmingham Science Park Aston at Faraday Wharf on Holt Street. The venue has been kindly provided by Entrepreneurs for the Future (e4f) which is a mentor led tech startup incubator programme run by Birmingham Science Park Aston (BSPA).

Meet the Lion

Another meeting hosted by the friendly folk at the Apple Store in Solihull.
Lion has been out in the wild for a few weeks now, some people love it, some are asking how do I make it like Snow Leopard. If yo have any Lion related questions, bring them along to this session.

Securing your Mac

Session starts at 6.30 with a presentation at 7pm followed by questions, finishing at 8pm. Our topic for this meet is Securing your Mac. We will have a look at a few of the features built in to the Mac that can make life online a bit safer.

Exploring Photoshop CS5

Join us for a tour of the CS5 version of Photoshop. We will start with some Photoshop basics and explore cool features like Puppet Warp, Content aware fill, Lens Correction and Repoussé. The session is aimed at anyone who is interesting in processing and editing images on their mac and will be led by Benjamin Stanley from Trilby Multimedia.

Summer Social meeting

Our Summer Social meeting will be at Stratford on Avon Gliding Club on the 5th of August.
We will look to start around 6pm with gliding sessions going on for as long as people pay and there is day light.
To glide is £35 and MMUG will be providing refreshments as normal.

A tour of the iPad at the Apple Store Solihull.Come and see this magical new device in action at our friendly local Apple Store.
We will have a walkthrough from Apple staff followed by a hands on opportunity.
Pizza afterwards at Pizza Hut upstairs - If coming by car we suggest you park in the main Touchwood car park underneath - Train station is very close by.

Entrance to the meeting is free for MMUG members or £3 for non-members and includes a raffle ticket. See our Membership page for details on joining the group.
